Locality: off Taiwan, deep water, June 2009	Dimensions: 32 mm test, 120 mm over spines
The specimen corresponds very well to fig.1 and 3 of Table 5, Shigei, The Sea Urchins of Sagami Bay. Also in Th. Mortensen, A Monograph of the Echinoidea I, Cidaroida, Plate XXXV specimens with a star-shaped figure in the apical system can be seen. On the other hand the star-shaped figure is missing in my older specimen and also fig. 3 of the mentioned Mortensen-Plate shows a specimen without a star. It seems that it depends on localities.
